SSID Merge Requests and Deadlines
When requesting a merge, please make sure that all attributes are the same and all LEA’s agree to the merge.
Be sure it is the same student:
- Contact All LEAs associated with the “to be Merged Away” SSID (larger or newer) and verify it really is the SAME student.
- Look in the Student History under the Student Location section for all affected LEAs. This will show who will need to be contacted.
3. Use the SSID User Contact List off the SSID web Support tab for LEA contact information.
Deadlines:

October 1 Submission
- Merge requests need to be submitted 2 weeks prior to October 5 to guarantee that a merge request can be completed in time for you to finalize your data.

December 1 Submission
- Merge requests need to be submitted 2 weeks prior to December 7 to guarantee that a merge request can be completed in time for you to finalize your data.

July 1 Submission
- Merge requests need to be submitted 2 weeks prior to June 30 to guarantee that a merge request can be completed in time for you to finalize your data.
We will do our best to complete any merges submitted after the deadline but cannot guarantee that the request will be completed in time for your finalized data.
Merge Request:
- Please remember that all primary attributes must be ‘exactly’ the same for both SSIDs, otherwise we will not be able to do the merge, and this can create delays.
- Required Primary attributes are first, middle, last name, sex and birthdate.
- SSID’s are not PII (Private Identifying Information) you are allowed to send these in emails as long as no names are attached to them.
- The lower of the two SSID Numbers will be kept.
- The requesting LEA needs to provide the student school id number to keep.
- Provide name and LEA # of the contact who granted permission to merge on behalf of the LEA.
- Start at the Help Desk System Home page: https://apphelpdesk.schools.utah.gov/support/home
- Log in in the upper right-hand corner.
- Click on "Submit a request" option.
10. Pull up the Service Catalog.
11. Select SSID.
12. Select SSID Merge Request.
13. Enter all pertinent information on the form and submit.
